Lib Tech Cortado 145 snowboard 2021

The Lib Tech Cortado is a snowboard from the new women's collection from Lib Tech. A directional snowboard that is perfect for the slopes, or just over the edge in the powder. Easy to turn thanks to the C2 camber / rocker combination and sufficient grip thanks to Magne-Traction steel edges make it complete.

Lib Tech worked with Travis Rice to develop this perfectly balanced all terrain contour. Mild rocker between your feet with powerful cambers to the tips and tails. Enough power pop and precision to technically hit the biggest wedges, enough float and freedom to rip the gnarliest AK pow lines. Carves the resort, plays in the park, and slays powder.

Shape: directional
A directional board has a nose that is longer than the tail of the snowboard, which provides more control on steep parts and less effort in the powder. The flex of the board is also asymmetrical with the tail usually being stiffer for better cornering and stability. The nose is often made less stiff, which gives you a better float. The stance of the board is more towards the tail where the amount is indicated by inches. Directional boards can be ridden in both directions, but its strength lies in riding the preferred side.

Core: 75% aspen / 25% paulownia
This core of Lib Tech consists of more than half of aspen which is a somewhat heavier type of wood, to make the snowboard lighter there are 2 lanes with paulownia wood in the core.

Base: eco sublimated TNT
The TNT base from Lib Tech is according to them the best base there is. Not because it slides the best, but because it maintains the ease of maintenance of an extruded base but slides a lot better than an extruded base and goes towards the sintered bases. The base consists of double-bearing fluoro material. Eco sublimated is a very technical story but simply means that this base is made ecologically friendly.

Sidewalls: UHWM sintered / birch internal
UHWM is one of the strongest thermoplastic plastics at the moment. This ensures that you do not have to have your board repaired every time after hitting a box, rail or skis. On the inside of your sidewalls is a thin layer of birch, this type of wood is very strong and flexible, which ensures that your sidewall can better distribute and absorb the force of an impact.

Edges: magne-traction
If you have been driving on ice, you know how quickly you can lose control there. Magne-traction cuts through ice and hard snow with 7 undulating bumps. Simply put, your steel side bites into the ice instead of cutting it just like a serrated knife does in bread. But in normal snow on the slopes it gives control and hold which gives you the confidence to keep up speed. You will especially feel this with curves where you apply power or while carving.
