Gnu Velvet snowboard

Gnu's Velvet ticks a lot of boxes... Beautiful design, versatile C2 shape, fast base, relaxed price and so on. This all-mountain twin has an asymmetrical shape. You don't seem to notice that, but the backside turns will be a little smoother. Trust Gnu! Magne traction, grip in all conditions.

Profile: C2
To give the all-terrain boards a perfectly balanced profile, Mervin developed the C2 together with Travis Rice. A mild rocker between your feet with a powerful camber at the tip and tail. Enough pop for the park, precision for the best lines and float to get loose in the powder. The C2e variation makes the profile a little more playful and the C2x provides even more precision.

Shape: true twin
A true twin is exactly symmetrical, so it doesn't matter whether you go down front left or front right, the board feels the same. With a true twin, both the shape of the board and the core are the same. True Twin is perfect for people who ride a lot of switches, or do tricks where you turn your board, because the board feeling is always the same when landing.

Asym: Level 1
The human body is asymmetrical. The way you turn turns on your toes and heels are completely different. The asym ensures that your board comes into harmony with your body to provide a more efficient, less tiring and improved ride. The board gives you more precise control on the toe side and more power on the heel side. Level 1 asym means that the core of your board on your heel side is more flexible and the sidecut on your heel side is deeper.

Core: Aspen / Paulownia
The G2 ASYM core from GNU consists largely of aspen, which is a somewhat heavier type of wood. To make the snowboard lighter, there are 2 lanes with paulownia wood in the core on the heel side of the board and 1 lane on the toe side.

Base: eco sublimated Sintered
An extruded base gives you great ease of maintenance. Waxing is required less often than with a sintered board and if you have a scratch in your board, it is much easier to fill. An extruded base also ensures that your board gets a better price. Eco sublimated is a very technical story, but simply put it means that this base has been made ecologically friendly.

Sidewalls: UHWM
UHWM is one of the strongest thermoplastics available today. This ensures that you don't have to have your board repaired every time you hit a box, rail or skis.

Steel edge: magne-traction
If you have driven on ice, you know how quickly you can lose control. Magne-traction cuts through ice and hard snow with 7 wave bumps. Simply put, your steel edge bites into the ice instead of cutting it just like a serrated knife does into bread. But in normal snow on piste it provides control and hold which gives you the confidence to keep up speed. You will especially feel this when making turns or when carving.
